KPFA 94.1fm Radio offers ongoing internships in its News Department. Interns
serve as news writers and field reporters, or as production and on-air engineers,
and sometimes both. Credit can be arranged for qualified college students. Paid
freelance assignments are possible.
Training
KPFA 94.1fm Radio offers an ongoing course in radio journalism. The course covers
news writing, interviewing, tape editing, equipment use, and field reporting,
leading to a six month internship as a reporter in the KPFA News Department.
The course lasts from 7 to 10 weeks depending on class size and is held each
Fall and late Winter with an occasional Summer session. Classes are from 7:30
pm to 10:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
